last week for this semester =(

___________THURSDAY 1 MARCH 2012___________

today is a last day we meet Miss Zu because this week is the last week for this semester....
so,,we just enjoy in the class....
before we make a party,Miss Zu want discuss about the pop quiz that we had done last tuesday..
Miss Zu said many problem are come from introduction..
I think it very hard to write an introduction because it must have a hook, transition and thesis statement =(
even I group with the people that have an ability to write a good essay,but my group just got 14/20 because of me... I'm so sad........ =(




after discussing, Miss Zu give us many snack....Miss Zu buy the food using RM1 that she collected from those who came late.......



snacks !!
we just enjoy today and take a photo for memories =)

today we learn about  'TONE'
type of tone is :
  1. to entertain - story that describe something or someone in an interesting way
  2. to instruct - explain or teach something in the story that the reader doesn't know
  3. to persuade - tries to change our opinion on topic by appealing to our emotions
  4. to describe - describe other purpose in writing
example of tone words :
-indignant
-bitter
-cynical
-incredulous
-optimistic
-mocking

analyzing reading text :
-over-generalization - forming a general opinion based on inadequate examples
-quoting to the wrong authority - citing a person who is famous but is not an what he or she is talking about
-jumping on the bandwagon - trying to persuade reader to agree on an idea

passive voice!!!! topic that we learn today....
sue,nina,bella and megat present about passive voice..

Passive voice is used when the emphasis is more on the object of a sentence rather than the doer.

example for passive voice is:
Pony eat  the chocolate cake.  (ACTIVE VOICE)

The chocolate cake was ate by Pony.  (PASSIVE VOICE)

after the presentation,for last time Miss Zu give a POP QUIZ again..

today we were learn about argumentative essay....
argumentative is an essay is an essay where you attempt to persuade or convince the reader to change his mind/opinion/point of view. 

 remember all this before you writing .........
  • Brainstorm ideas on the subject
  • Identify the main topics
  • Use the topics as heading for organising your notes
  • Decides which side you are on. Make sure you choose the side that you can fully support
  • Plan and write an outline for your essay. Noting down the information you will include in each paragraph.

today we learn about how to drawing conclusion ......
Drawing conclusions is a form of critical thinking. It is relating what you see, hear and read to what you already know.

HOW TO MAKE CONCLUSIONS?
  • Read  the paragraph and identify the topic sentence and main idea.
  • Look for supporting details as evidence that you can use to reach a conclusion (E.g of evidences are: facts, statistics, reasons, definitions and descriptions.
  • Combine your prior knowledge with the supporting details to draw conclusions.

An inference is a logical conclusion based on what has been stated in the text.
 
- Information which is provided must be analyzed.

The simple present tense is used to describe situations, activities or actions which happen in the present time.

  • THE TRANSITION- moves the reader from the hook to the driving force of the essay
  • THE THESIS- makes the contract with the reader about what will be discussed without a transparent announcement.

After MGT153 class, we go to BK2 to do the listening test !!!
the test not take a long time,just one hour..
last night I clean my ear to listen well while the listening test =)
the test is proceed very well...

this is the hardest day to me because this day is speaking test....
I group with megat, dinie and ella..
I;m very throbbing and worried because I'm weak in English...
when I speak, 2 minutes is so long to me...
many point I get, but I can't speak because I'm nervous.....
I hope Miss Zu will help me =(

Today miss Zu do the listening exercise again.... I just got 7/15...so sad =(
after finished the listening test, nabila,wani and syafiqah present their presentation about 'adverb and subject verb agreement'..
Adverbs are words that modify:
  • a VERB
  • an ADJECTIVES
  • ANOTHER ADVERBS

For subject verb agreement :
In SVA, the subjects an verbs must agree with one another in number  (singular/plural)
Thus, if the subject is singular, its verb must also be singular ; if a subject is plural, its verb must also be plural.

today is speaking test exercise.... Rahey, Megat, Ezuan and Elya are chosen to do the speaking test exercise...

after that, the other group is nina, dinie, syazwan and izauddin...
they also speaking very well....
miss Zu ask us to read newspaper to know more about current issue...yes miss.... I will =)

it just listening exercise....
we do the listening exercise so that we can know how the real listening test are done...
we just use exercise in the text book...
exercise in text book is very hard and I almost can't answer it..
but from the exercise, I will improve it =)
